A trading plan is a written set of rules that removes decisions from the heat of the moment. It should fit on one page.
The one-page template
- Markets: the 2–4 instruments you trade and the sessions you trade them in.
- Setups: the exact conditions for entry, described so someone else could spot them.
- Risk: % of equity per trade, where the stop goes and how the target is chosen.
- Daily limits: maximum trades, personal daily stop, and when you stop for the day.
- Management: when you move to break-even, take partials or use a trailing stop.
- Review: what you record after each day and each week.
Make the platform enforce it
Turn on the protections in the platform: require a stop loss, cap risk per trade, and block orders that could breach today's limit. The server rejects orders that break your own rules.
