The 30/60-day time limit: how to pace a 2-Step challenge

Phase 1 has 30 days, phase 2 has 60. How to turn the time limit into a weekly plan instead of a source of pressure.

By the Axora Funded Research Team

The Axora 2-Step has a maximum of 30 calendar days for phase 1 (10% target) and 60 days for phase 2 (5% target), with at least 5 trading days in each phase. Other programmes, like the 1-Step, have no time limit. A deadline sounds stressful, but used well it is a pacing tool.

Break the target into weeks

Phase 1 has about four trading weeks. 10% over four weeks is 2.5% a week, or roughly 0.5% per trading day on average. That is two or three good trades a week at 0.5–1% risk. Phase 2 is gentler: 5% over eight weeks is under 1% a week.

  • Week 1 (phase 1): +2–3%. Settle in, no forcing.
  • Week 2: +2–3%. By the end you should be near +5%.
  • Week 3: +2–3%. Review if you are well below +5%.
  • Week 4: finish calmly; do not increase size in the last days.

What if you are behind?

If you reach day 20 at +2%, the temptation is to double the size. The maths says otherwise: doubling the size doubles the chance of hitting the daily or maximum loss. It is usually better to accept a slower pace, keep your normal size and, if the time runs out, start again with a discount code than to blow the account trying.

Weekends and the clock

Calendar days include weekends, and positions on the 2-Step must be closed before the weekend. Plan your trading for Monday to Friday and treat the weekend as review time.

No time limit? Choose another programme

If deadlines make you trade worse, the 1-Step or Pass may suit you better: they have no maximum trading days, though their limits are tighter.

What happens if the time runs out?

The phase ends without passing. You can start a new challenge; failed accounts usually receive a retry discount by email.

Do weekends count toward the 30 days?

Yes, the limit is in calendar days. Minimum trading days only count days on which you traded.
