Trading a prop challenge with a full-time job: a realistic schedule

You do not need to trade all day to pass. How to choose one session that fits your job, which markets move at that time and how to plan your week.

By the Axora Funded Research Team

Most people who take a prop challenge also have a job. That is not a disadvantage: traders with limited screen time often take fewer, better trades. The key is choosing one session that fits your life and the markets that are active during it.

Pick your window

  • Early morning in Europe (07:00–09:00 UTC): London open, EURUSD, GBPUSD, gold.
  • Evening in Europe or Asia (13:30–16:00 UTC): US open, indices, gold, USD pairs.
  • Morning in Latin America: the same US open, before a work day.
  • Late evening anywhere: crypto and USDJPY in the Tokyo session.

A weekly plan

  • Sunday: 30 minutes to mark levels and check the calendar.
  • Trading days: one session of 60–90 minutes with a maximum of two or three trades.
  • Friday: close everything (2-Step) and review the week.

Use orders and alerts

If you cannot watch the screen, use limit orders at your levels with the stop and target already set. Make sure you are not holding positions through high-impact news you cannot monitor.
