How the DOTUSD lot size is calculated
Position size = risk in dollars ÷ (stop distance × value per unit). On DOTUSD, one point ($1) is worth $100.00 per standard lot, so a $0.05 stop costs $5.00 per lot. $1,000 ÷ $5.00 = 200 lots (rounded down to the 0.01 step).
Spread add a little to the real cost of each trade, so many traders round down further. Calculated at the current DOTUSD price of 1.0705.
The $100K rules in DOTUSD price moves
Rules are set in dollars, but you watch the DOTUSD chart. This is how far price can move against a 200-lot position before each limit is reached:
- Classic: target $10,000 ($0.5) + $5,000 ($0.25), daily loss $4,000 ($0.2), max loss $8,000 ($0.4), all with 200 lots.
- At 1% risk per trade it takes 4 losing trades in a single day to hit the Classic daily limit.
- 1-Step: target $10,000 ($0.5), daily loss $3,000 ($0.15), max loss $6,000 trailing ($0.3), all with 200 lots.
- At 1% risk per trade it takes 3 losing trades in a single day to hit the 1-Step daily limit.
- Ascent: target $5,000 ($0.25) + $5,000 ($0.25) + $5,000 ($0.25), daily loss $3,000 ($0.15), max loss $6,000 ($0.3), all with 200 lots.
- At 1% risk per trade it takes 3 losing trades in a single day to hit the Ascent daily limit.
- Spark: target $8,000 ($0.4), daily loss $2,000 ($0.1), max loss $4,000 ($0.2), all with 200 lots.
- At 1% risk per trade it takes 2 losing trades in a single day to hit the Spark daily limit.
Maximum DOTUSD position size on $100K
With 1:5 leverage one lot needs about $21 of margin, so a $100K account could open about 300 lots in total. That is a margin ceiling, not a target: the daily loss limit is the real constraint.
When DOTUSD moves most
Tracks the altcoin market, with moves on ecosystem and governance news. Size down around those moments: wider swings mean a wider stop, and a wider stop with the same risk means fewer lots.
