About GBPUSD
GBPUSD, nicknamed "Cable", moves more than EURUSD on average, which gives day traders bigger ranges. It is driven by Bank of England policy, UK inflation and US data.
Strongest at the London open and during the overlap with New York; UK CPI and BoE decisions create sharp moves.
How to size a GBPUSD position
Position size = risk in dollars ÷ (stop distance × value per unit). Example on a $100,000 account risking 1% ($1,000) with a 25 pips stop: 4 lots, which risks about $1,000.
The order panel has a built-in risk calculator: enter your % risk and your stop loss and it sizes the position for you.
Which challenge to trade GBPUSD?
