About USDCAD
USDCAD is closely linked to crude oil, Canada’s main export, and to the policy gap between the Bank of Canada and the Fed. Oil traders often use it as a currency proxy.
Most active in the New York session; Canadian and US employment data are released at the same time, often causing large moves.
How to size a USDCAD position
Position size = risk in dollars ÷ (stop distance × value per unit). Example on a $100,000 account risking 1% ($1,000) with a 20 pips stop: 7.12 lots, which risks about $999.
The order panel has a built-in risk calculator: enter your % risk and your stop loss and it sizes the position for you.
