About USDJPY
USDJPY follows the gap between US and Japanese yields and is sensitive to Bank of Japan decisions and risk sentiment. It trends cleanly and is popular for both intraday and swing trading.
Active in the Tokyo session and again at the New York open; US Treasury yields and BoJ announcements drive the biggest moves.
How to size a USDJPY position
Position size = risk in dollars ÷ (stop distance × value per unit). Example on a $100,000 account risking 1% ($1,000) with a 30 pips stop: 5.25 lots, which risks about $1,000.
The order panel has a built-in risk calculator: enter your % risk and your stop loss and it sizes the position for you.
Which challenge to trade USDJPY?
2-Step challenge (10% + 5% targets, 4% daily and 8% maximum loss) or the faster 1-Step challenge (one 10% target).
